The Veera Project is a Swiss-based non-profit organization established in 2014 by Anne Vincent and Ruth de Heinrich. The organization focuses on supporting higher education for young women in Jodhpur, India, by providing financial assistance, mentorship, and academic support to students facing financial barriers.
Since its creation, sponsored students have been able to attend prestigious institutions, including the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and the University of Jodhpur. Other attend schools such as the Mayurakshi College of Nursing. The students pursue diverse fields of study, such as public health, business, fashion design, education and nursing.
These opportunities play a critical role in expanding career prospects and fostering long-term independence. Higher education lies at the heart of the Veera Project’s mission. By removing financial obstacles, the project enables young women to complete degrees, gain professional qualifications, and become fully independent.
As demand for higher education continues to grow in India, the Veera Project remains committed to providing talented and motivated women from underprivileged backgrounds with the means to study, notably by covering schooling and book fees as well as living expenses.
